Top Selling Automotive Groups in 2023

We do have a habit of writing stories about rankings and sales numbers in the automotive industry as it makes for interesting reading if you’re into data and statistics. There was a time, some time ago now, when the American car makers were always leading the pack, however, that is not the case anymore. As you will see in the list, GM and Ford are now well behind the Japanese, German and Korean giants.

Most of us aren’t aware of just how many different car companies are making vehicles and competing in the global marketplace. Below are the 2023 rankings of the world’s biggest-selling car brands.

This automotive sales data is gathered from the car companies published reports, and other articles and information posted on the internet. This information shows that Toyota has outsold the others by some millions in global vehicle sales for 2023. In fact, Toyota has led the global sales volumes for 9 of the past 10 years (Volkswagen was the only brand to top Toyota in 2020).

This list ranks new-car sales according to automotive corporations and or partnerships.
