It was a record for new vehicle sales in New Zealand last year so we wanted to have a look at what brands made the top 5. Total new vehicle registrations finished at 159,871 and there were some new brands that don’t get much of a mention but did well compared to the previous year.
For instance, Tesla sold 244 vehicles in 2017 a huge increase from the 2016 sales sheet of just 24 an increase of 916%.
Another brand showing growth is McLaren, selling 33 super-cars compared to 24 in 2016, even Rolls Royce doubled their sales from 4 to 8 vehicles in 2017.
There were some well-known brands like Hyundai with 7,892 sales down 5.7% on 8,376 sales in 2016 and Nissan with 7,842 vehicles sold, down 9.0% on 8,624 sales in 2016 that didn’t do well in this record market.
