What Holden Commodore Models are we going to see in 2018?
Here’s a list of the first fully imported Commodores that are due to arrive in Australia & New Zealand early this year. Holden is offering an entry-level Commodore that costs less, it’s smaller and is based on the German-made Opel Insignia. This entry level will compete against cars like the Mazda 6, Toyota Camry and the Ford Mondeo.
1. Holden Commodore LT
This is a 4-cylinder turbocharged model available as either a 5-door lift-back or wagon. The wagon comes with a petrol engine or a more economical 2.0L turbo diesel.
The LT features a 9-speed automatic transmission with 17-inch alloy wheels, includes senses for the headlight & wipers and LED daytime running lights & tail-lamps. Other features include a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto integration, keyless entry & start, 60/40 split rear seat, cruise control, an 8-way powered driver’s seat & leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The LT also features autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist & lane departure warning. It has front & rear parking sensors, reversing camera & Holden’s Advanced Park Assist.
2. Holden Commodore RS
The RS will also be available as a lift-back sedan or a more expensive wagon, but no diesel option. The RS gives you some upgrades to the LT by way of some extra driver-assist functions including rear cross-traffic alert, and a blind spot warning system.
It also comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and a bunch of sporty extras like a body kit, sporty front seats & steering wheel, rear-lip spoiler and on the wagon version, a powered tailgate.
3. Holden Commodore RS V6 AWD
This model comes only as a lift-back sedan option and swaps out the 2.0L turbocharged petrol for a 3.6L V6 and goes from front wheel drive to all-wheel-drive.
4. Holden Commodore RS-V V6 AWD
A 5-door sedan or wagon and in reality, the replacement for the SV6, it features a 3.6L V6 with all-wheel drive, electronic limited slip differential with improved suspension.
Other additions include wireless phone charging, ambient interior lighting, large 8-inch multimedia screen, digital radio, built-in sat-nav, leather trim, heated front seats, gear-shift paddles & alloy pedal caps.
5. Holden Commodore VXR V6 AWD
The VXR is the flag-ship of the Commodore range and comes with 20-inch alloy wheels, a 3-mode adaptive suspension system, Brembo brakes, sunroof, branded floor mats & sill plates, a surround-view camera system, cooled front leather sports seats, adjustable side bolsters, heated rear seats, BOSE audio system, cruise control & adaptive LED headlights.
6. Holden Calais & Calais-V
The Calais and Calais-V just adds more luxury-focussed equipment like leather seat trim, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, 8-inch touchscreen, sat-nav, digital radio, and a colour digital screen.
The Calais-V is available as either a lift-back sedan or a SUV-styled touring. It steps up to 20-inch alloys and adds a rear lip spoiler. Both versions follow the specification of the VXR minus the sporty stuff but also gains a sunroof and a massaging function for the front seats.
