Commodores you could collect

The very last Australian performance (limited edition) Commodore’s are V8 powered and named Motorsport, Director and Magnum. The Motorsport & Director have adaptive suspension, feature a 304kW 6.2L, LS3 engine however the Magnum Ute doesn’t get the cleaver suspension.

There has been a lot of hype written about the end of the Australian manufacturing era but we think there will be a fair amount of interest in these final Australian built Commodores especially for collectors. (We noted something similar with the last of the Ford Falcons).

The Motorsport & Director are an attempt to combine performance and luxury, while the Magnum is a powerful Ute. The handling improvements include a lighter brake disc, front and rear cross-drilled brake rotors, an upgraded engine and transmission-cooling package with 20-inch rims and tyres. (See the list of features below taken from the www.whichcar.com.au website).

The Motorsport Edition is a link to Commodore’s racing success over the years with red mirror scalps, red running lights in the front bumper, red-lined 20-inch wheels and Motorsport Edition markers.

An additional feature is the Magnetic Ride Control, a system that allows you to change the suspension set up to Tour, Sport or Performance. This alters the dampers to suit the driving conditions for better handling and ride comfort.
